Aquatic Provider – Claire Murdoch

As a parent to a neurodiverse child, my youngest of five, I deeply understand the challenges in finding suitable extra-curricular activities. Having worked in the leisure industry for many years, the difficulties I have encountered with my son have inspired me to create opportunities for neurodiverse individuals in the realm of sports and leisure. My qualification with Autism Swim marked the beginning of an incredible new venture! 

Given my existing qualifications as a swim teacher, it made perfect sense to start with pool-based activities. Our services will include aquatic therapy and water safety, offering 1-2-1, 2-2-1, and small group sessions. Additionally, we will provide carer and swimmer lessons, where parents and carers can support their swimmer in a safe and enjoyable environment. 

Currently, I hold the following qualifications:- STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming- STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming- STA Level 2 Award for Safety Award for Teachers- School Swimming Academy- STA Award in Aquatic Teaching – Disability Swimming- Level 1 & 2 Makaton (with Levels 3 & 4 to be completed in September 2025)
We are based at a wonderfully warm pool just outside Whimple, only two minutes from the Daisymount junction on the A30 (Ottery St Mary). I am happy to receive enquiries from schools interested in specialist swim teaching for pupils with additional needs.
