I am 67 years old in June and cannot imagine not teaching swimming, so here I am, retirement age and still loving what I do. I have recently committed to extending my knowledge with regards to children/adults on the Autism Spectrum specifically because I see a need in my local community that is not being met. My heart goes out to these young people and their parents who just want to enjoy the water safely and confidently. The most rewarding days for me are when one of my swim kids is smiling and enjoying the aquatic environment and their parents are relaxed in allowing them that freedom. I teach at the Maryborough Aquatic Centre (Queensland) who are very supportive of me and the children I teach.
