My name is Michelle Goodwin, and I live in the beautiful coastal town of Port Lincoln, South Australia. I am a proud mother of two handsome boys, a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old.
When my first son was ready to start swimming lessons, I enrolled him in a wonderful local boutique swim school. We loved it! I loved it so much that I was fortunate enough to be asked by the owner/operator if I would be interested in teaching swimming. It was a BIG yes from me, and from that moment on, I haven’t looked back.
Learning to swim is essential for everyone living in Australia. My goal is to become a mobile provider of an inclusive water safety program in Port Lincoln and the Lower Eyre Peninsula. I want to create an environment where everyone—regardless of their abilities, backgrounds, or personal circumstances—has equal access to swimming and water safety lessons.
As a swimming and water safety teacher, I will tailor my lessons to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they are instructional, fun, and engaging. I understand that every individual has different needs and requires varying levels of support. My goal is to empower students with the confidence and skills they need to enjoy water activities safely.
I will be a mobile provider. I can visit peoples home pools and I also have access to an ocean pool.
The NDIS may fund the difference in cost between group and 1:1 lessons if it can be justified that the individual needs 1:1 support.
