xI have been teaching swimming for around 15 years (I’ve lost count? 🙂 ) and have specialised in complex needs for the last 8. I am an AUSTSWIM presenter, assessor and teacher who is passionate about teaching students and teachers how to love and be safer in water.
I have worked at a number of swim schools, and with a physiotherapist, to provide a range of aquatic learning experiences. I currently work at Aqua Harmony in Kambah both as a teacher, and providing training and support to other teachers at the centre.
I have experience teaching students with a range of levels of physical, social, emotional and cognitive function and ability. I firmly believe swimming should be safe and fun and I teach this through shaping movement and creating supportive positive learning environments.
I also train, assess and mentor swimming teachers and parents in a range of skills, from introducing/supporting/teaching aquatic concepts, to problem solving particular behavioural or skill acquisition challenges.
