Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) at DPV Health is a program for children with a developmental delay or disability and their families. We provide Key Worker specialist support to children from 0-7 years utilising National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding. We also have our Youth Program that provides continuity of care for young people aged 7-14. The Youth Program provides opportunities for young people to access 1:1 therapy, experience and explore different recreational activities within an evidence-based therapeutic framework.
Our 1-1 sessions and groups are designed to be Inclusive and accessible for children that are unable to or restricted from attending group swim classes. They involve water play and skill development and aim to help children learn and develop in a social setting. Specific targets may include gross-motor abilities, core strength, social and language skills, familiarisation and enjoyment around water, basic safety skills and expectations, and empowering children and their families to feel safer in aquatic environments.
We provide our services at several Hume Council indoor swimming pools; currently we are working from Broadmeadows Leisure Centre and Splash in Craigieburn.
We work primarily in the heated pool section and adapt our sessions according to individuals needs e.g. depth, temperature, noise level, age and duration of session.
