I’m Samantha Lane, an Autism Swim–Accredited instructor based in Southern Tasmania. I provide gentle, confidence-building 1:1 swim sessions designed for neurodivergent children and adults who benefit from a quieter, more individual approach.
My sessions focus on water safety, foundational swimming skills, body awareness, and supporting emotional regulation in the water. I tailor each lesson to the swimmer’s needs, pace, sensory profile and goals, whether that’s confidence, safety around dams/ocean environments, or progressing basic swimming skills.
I also have a fitness background (Cert IV in Fitness) and offer land-based support for strength, mobility and general wellbeing for participants who benefit from a combined approach
I operate as a mobile provider. At this stage, I work out of public pools in the Hobart and Eastern Shore areas (subject to lane availability and centre approval), and I travel to participants’ home pools when suitable and safe.
I also incorporate ocean-based confidence work during the warmer months for swimmers who have goals around open-water safety or exposure, always within Autism Swim safety guidelines.
My program is 1:1 only, with a strong focus on safety, predictability, and meeting each swimmer where they’re at.
Many families in Southern Tasmania access NDIS funding to support swim confidence, water safety and physical wellbeing goals. Participants may use self-managed or plan-managed budgets depending on their individual plans.
Mobile service across Hobart, Clarence, and surrounding areas.
Primary pool locations (subject to approval):
• Clarence Aquatic Centre, Montagu Bay
• Other approved public pools within the Hobart region
Testimonials
Sam is a fantastic coach – personable, encouraging and observant. She knows her stuff and tailors activities to meet specific needs. Highly recommend if you want to build swimming confidence, skill and enjoyment
I’ve been swimming for fitness for a while, but a single session with Sammy changed things immediately. She picked up a few small technique issues I’d never noticed, explained them clearly, and the improvement showed up in my next swim—smoother strokes, better efficiency, and noticeably faster splits. She has a great eye for detail and an easy, encouraging coaching style. Highly recommend her if you want real, measurable progress in the water.
